From 1st to 28th September, visit our Mama on Palette Community Space at 254 Outram Road. Our diverse programmes and experiences are designed for visitors of all ages, genders, and backgrounds, inviting you to explore and celebrate the beauty of motherhood through art.

Delve into a variety of art workshops designed to inspire creativity and self-expression, offering experiences in paper art, quilling, and therapy art to nurture your artistic journey.
From 1-28 September, Mama on Palette Community Space offers family-friendly workshops led by mother artists from the Mama on Palette community. Designed to inspire creativity for all ages, these workshops are conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Havelock MRT station, a short bus ride from Outram Park MRT station, and close to Tiong Bahru Market.
Families can bond over art while exploring a range of techniques, from painting and drawing to crafts, in a supportive environment. Enjoy quality time together, discover new skills, and unleash your imagination with guidance from talented mother artists. Grab your seats now!

Creative Quills: Expressive Paper Filigree
Learn to transform simple paper strips into intricate designs guided by an experienced instructor. Therapy Art Resilience
Explore various art techniques, including ink blowing, blind contour drawing, and finger painting, to discover and express your true self. Kumiko has experienced the transformative power of art therapy firsthand, overcoming depression through painting while in New York City. She has developed a unique curriculum that reinvents the art methods she learned at Pratt Institute and LASALLE College of the Arts. Participants have found great enjoyment and personal insight through her workshops.

Blooming Emotions
Join us for "Blooming Emotions," a workshop where you can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and embrace creativity through the art of paper flowers. Led by paper artist Kaelie Kwah, this contemporary take on origami allows you to transform simple paper into stunning sculptural pieces that reflect the rich emotions of motherhood.
By the end of the session, each participant will have a one-of-a-kind creation approximately 10 cm in diameter and 40 cm high. This workshop offers an opportunity to unwind, connect, and celebrate motherhood through art.

Babita Sridhar
Babita, a self-taught abstract realism artist in Singapore, creates vibrant artworks that embody resilience and hope. Using oils, acrylics, and mixed media, her pieces invite emotional connection. She exhibits locally and internationally, including at World Art Dubai, and is involved in the Mama on Palette community and "Arts for a Cause," donating proceeds to charity. Her journey as a mother, especially through her second child's health challenges, resonates deeply with the Reborn: Motherhood theme, inspiring her art.

Clarissa Maskilone
Clarissa creates soulful, intuitive, and vibrant artwork that reflects her personal journey and growth as a mother and self-taught artist. Born in Malaysian-Borneo, she draws inspiration from the intricate ethnic motifs and designs found in the textiles and crafts of her hometown and travels. Her work features repetitive marks and clashing colours, evoking movement, fluidity, and a free spirit. Working with acrylics, marker pens, and digital mediums, Clarissa has exhibited her art in Singapore and Malaysia, sharing her unique perspective.

Yashika Aggarwal
Yashika is an abstract artist and devoted mother who blends her passions for art and yoga. After a successful career at Singtel, she retired in 2019 to pursue a personal artistic journey. Trained at NAFA Singapore, Yashika's art captures emotions and ethereal energies, inviting viewers to connect with her work. She uses diverse lines, textures, and layers to convey these energies, drawing inspiration from the chaos of motherhood and her experiences in yoga. Her intuitive process creates artworks that exude vitality and stillness.

Ayda Alp
Inspired by Nikola Tesla's quote on energy and vibration, Ayda creates art that promotes positive emotions and enhances spaces through colour, texture, and sacred geometry. Her work incorporates high-vibrational elements like crystals and essential oils to evoke love, peace, and harmony. After losing her mother shortly after giving birth to three children in 17 months, Ayda turned to art for healing. Initially drawn to dark sketches, she embraced colour therapy, shifting her focus to positivity and hope.

Novelisa Sondang Delima
Novelisa, the creative force behind Macramenian, blends her architectural background with her passion for textile art. Transitioning from architecture to fibre art, she found liberation and self-expression in macramé and weaving during her early motherhood years. Initially a personal exploration, her work evolved into a full-fledged artistic endeavour, driven by self-teaching and experimentation. Inspired by the vibrant hues of her surroundings and the emotions of human experience, her pieces tell unique stories woven with memory and imagination.

Jyotsna S Kumar
Jyotsna is a Singapore-based abstract artist inspired by the mundane tasks of daily life and the intricate patterns in nature. Her art captures fleeting moments, creating a visual narrative with shapes, hues, and layers to ignite wonder and connection. Through experimentation and spontaneity, Jyotsna's style has rapidly developed, reflecting her sense of visual balance. With a degree in Fine Arts and training in Western Abstract painting from NAFA, she has worked as a graphic designer and art educator for 19 years. Her work were showcased in various exhibitions, and adored by collectors worldwide.

Aparna Chakravarty
Inspired by nature, colours, textures, and patterns, Aparna infuses these elements into her art. She experiments with various mediums and tools, selecting those that best suit the subject. Constantly learning and expanding her artistic boundaries, Aparna participates in courses and workshops. She works across styles, including figurative, realistic, semi-abstract, and abstract. Delving into abstract art gives her the freedom to explore and challenge herself, while also understanding her feelings and when to stop. Aparna aims to continue exploring and sharing her art with the world.

Rosni
Rosni is an engineer, homemaker, entrepreneur, and passionate artist with a diverse artistic journey. She has participated in numerous local and international art exhibitions and shared her expertise through workshops in Singapore. Her painting, "Theyyam," is part of the permanent mural art collection at the Indian Embassy in Singapore. Rosni works with watercolours and acrylics, drawing inspiration from nature to capture flora, fauna, reflections, shadows, and emotions.

Bhagyalaxmi Rao
Bhagya is an artist, dreamer, and lover of all things whimsical, whose work reflects the splendour of life. Focusing on pen and ink as well as acrylics, she encourages viewers to explore the ordinary and extraordinary through exaggerated colours and light or stark black and white. Her art immerses you in vibrant depictions of nature, deities filled with thunder and grace, or black ink trails on a journey of exploration. Bhagya lives and creates in Singapore with her husband, two children, a cat, and a dog, who inspire her work.

Woo Yuan Yuan
Woo Yuan Yuan is a painter who captures the serenity and inclusivity of everyday scenes through ink and wash, watercolour, and other mediums. After retiring from financial services, she pursued painting full-time, showcasing her work in Mama on Palette's Mother's Day exhibitions. Her paintings were featured in Singapore in the Eyes of Mother Artists (SITE.MA) book, reflecting her focus on social issues and the beauty in simple activities. Woo is developing her first collection of 30 paintings for gallery exhibition and continues to refine her skills through lessons at NAFA and independent art studios.
BLUE
Ashwini Prasad Krishnamurthy
Ashwini is a contemporary impressionist artist from Singapore, known for her abstract, floral, and landscape compositions. Her work, characterised by spontaneity and intuition, reflects her travels and life experiences. With a keen eye for colour, Ashwini's vibrant paintings draw viewers into a world of rich hues and evocative forms. Her art has been exhibited locally and internationally, gaining acclaim and featuring in private collections across Singapore, Japan, and the US. Ashwini continues to inspire the contemporary art scene with her unique style.
BLUE
Kaelie Kwah
Trained in horticulture, Kaelie Kwah always dreamt of becoming an artist. Her passion for drawing with charcoal pencils paused as she pursued a degree in agriculture. After nearly 12 years in the agriculture and landscape field, she rekindled her love for art with her wedding bouquet, ‘Something Blue,’ in 2012. Using her knowledge of flora, Kaelie shifted to creating botanical paper art, viewing paper as a three-dimensional medium to express her emotions. Her work is extemporaneous, guided by light and shadow.
PURPLE
Rajul Shah
Rajul Shah is an international artist whose work offers respite and renewal from the chaos of daily life. Her art fuses the ancient practice of kintsugi, the spiritual world of chakras, and the emotional resonance of colour. Inspired by the Japanese tradition of mending pottery with precious metals, she uses kintsugi as a metaphor for the human journey, where life's scars tell unique stories of resilience. Rajul explores the alignment of chakras and their symbolic colours, believing that balancing these energy centres helps mend inner imbalances, reflecting the harmonious relationship between art and healing.
WHITE
Kumiko Matsushima
Born in Tokyo, Kumiko studied Economics at Waseda University and worked in the music industry and journalism before earning an MBA. She was a Product Manager at Cartier Japan and a bilingual interpreter. Inspired by New York City, she began painting and graduated with Highest Honors from Pratt Institute. She has exhibited in Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Singapore, organising charity events and winning awards, including from Asia Society Hong Kong Centre. Now based in Singapore, she studies Art Therapy and is active in the Women Artists Association, participating in local and international exhibitions.
GREEN
Pritha Bhadra
Pritha Bhadra is a classical realism painter based in Singapore, specialising in portraits, floral, and still life compositions that capture the beauty of daily life. Her goal is to reveal the profound simplicity around us, inviting viewers on a journey of discovery and emotion. Pritha’s acclaimed artworks have been recognised in competitions by international art magazines like Plein Air Salon and Arts to Hearts Project and are part of private collections in Singapore and India. She actively participates in Singapore’s art community and supports women’s liberation causes.
GREEN
Shagufta Neyazi
Shagufta Neyazi finds solace in abstract art, using mixed media to explore and express emotions with synergy and rhythm. Inspired by nature and a love of travel, her work features a dynamic interplay of colour and texture, blending mystery and sophistication. Shagufta uses unconventional tools to create harmony in her paintings, reflecting hope and light. She has exhibited her work in multiple exhibitions in Singapore, including a solo show, and will participate in an international exhibition in Perak, Malaysia.

We are thrilled to announce the onboarding of an esteemed panel of judges for our upcoming exhibition, "Reborn: Motherhood." This panel comprises distinguished art professionals, women empowerment leaders, and renowned art collectors, each bringing a wealth of experience and insight to the evaluation process. Their collective expertise will ensure a thorough and discerning assessment of the submitted artworks, providing mother artists with a valuable opportunity to gain exposure to a wider art audience. By highlighting their exceptional talents and encouraging them to advance in their artistic careers, we aim to celebrate and support the creative journeys of mothers in the art world.
Alan Koh
Fair Director, Affordable Art Fair, Singapore
Alan Koh is a key figure in the success of Affordable Art Fair Singapore since its launch in November 2010.
His career in the art world began in 2007 when he joined Sotheby’s Institute of Art – Singapore as a marketing executive. Three years later, he joined Affordable Art Fair’s newly formed Singapore team to launch the brand’s first show in Asia.
Since his appointment as Fair Director in 2015, Affordable Art Fair Singapore has seen an increase in new visitors and stronger engagement with art buyers through immersive and engaging activities. Alan developed key partnerships with DBS Bank, Volvo, Ruinart, Nespresso and Dorsett Hospitality International and led 15 impactful marketing campaigns to promote the fair’s mission to make art accessible to everyone.
Alan is also an Executive Committee Member of the Art Gallery Association of Singapore, an industry body that governs professional and ethical gallery practice in Singapore and serves to increase public awareness of the roles and responsibilities of art dealers.
A former student of Saint Joseph's Institution and a Positive Psychology diploma holder, Alan studied Art Business short courses and Arts Management at Sotheby's Institute of Art – Singapore.
He has an eclectic palette for a variety of artworks: from charcoal on paper, to Chinese ink on paper, to hyper-realistic paintings.
Angelynn Tan Yug Jiun
Programme Leader (Fundamentals), Faculty of Art & Design, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts
Angelynn co-founded EarthCulture in 1999, a design studio which specializes in graphic and textile design. She had since carried out projects with Robinsons & Co., Singapore Lifestyle Department, The Necessary Stage, and Club 21 Singapore. Besides running the studio, her interest in painting got her working with Memories of the East Pte Ltd and Asian Art Options, both of which are art galleries and art consultancies in Singapore.
Some of her notable achievements include winning 1st Prize for both the “Singapore Designers Award” in 2002 and the “Best Graduate Award Singapore/London” in 2003, where she exhibited her collection in Manchester Square, UK, in the London Graduate Fashion Week. She has also held her solo art exhibition “The Fashion of Art” in 2003 as well as various collaborative exhibitions in Singapore, Malaysia, Shanghai and Australia.
As a fashion and textile designer, she has presented her fashion collections at the “Blue Print Show”, “Jakarta Fashion Week” and “Mercedes Fashion Week Singapore” from 2004 to 2007. She then collaborated with Australian fashion designer Jules Tognini, and launched her eco-fashion collection “Green is the New Black”, a bamboo fibre collection in 2007.
As a lecturer at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Angelynn did not stop pursuing her passion. She completed her Master’s Degree in Arts and Design at Loughborough University in 2012, and her work was a practice-led research-experimentation of processes between the artist’s work on the materials, the reaction of the materials in the making process, and the outcome of the final piece of work. She has a keen interest to pursue the continuing research on the sensitivity of colour and touch. She believes that her practice and experiences will inspire her students in many ways.
Eunice Yeo
Founder, Peace of Art
Eunice Yeo, founder of Peace of Art, weaves sustainable living into Singapore’s cultural landscape, aiming to create a sustainable future for underprivileged children by breaking the poverty cycle.
In 2023, her "Hues of Hope" exhibition and auction raised $100,000. By collaborating with children from diverse backgrounds, her art transcends societal boundaries.
Peace of Art’s 2024 bio-resin series, “Ocean of Hope,” transforms ocean waste, wood remnants, and shattered glass into thought-provoking artworks, merging artistic brilliance with environmental consciousness. This series raised over $50,000.
Every dollar raised supports breaking the poverty cycle for Singapore's underprivileged children, embodying Eunice's dedication to societal transformation through art.
Peace of Art also organizes the Sustainable Kids Market and Sustainable Christmas Market, large-scale events that democratize philanthropy. Sustainable Markets bring together KIDSforKIDS-preneurs, eco-conscious vendors, sustainable living workshops, musical performances, and art auctions, all aimed at fundraising for underprivileged children.
These events collaborate with government bodies like the National Environment Agency and Families for Life, corporations such as CDL, Singland, Tencent, DBS, KPMG, and Allen & Gledhill, and feature participation from local and international schools. They also receive support from international entities including the Ukrainian and Pakistani embassies in Singapore.
Over the past four years, Peace of Art has raised over $750,000 for children in need globally, demonstrating Eunice Yeo's profound impact through the fusion of art and sustainability.
Galven Lee
Co-Founder and Director, Sound of Art
Galven is the Co-founder of Sound of Art, an art gallery and social enterprise supporting emerging Asian artists, based in Singapore. His passion lies in growing the careers of the >20 artists the gallery partners, who hail from countries from across Southeast Asia, and as far afield as Mongolia.
He believes in the power of art and visual culture to tell stories, inspire lives and transform culture. To this end, he has driven strategic partnerships with shopping malls (i12 Katong/Keppel Land), hospitality groups (Far East Hospitality, Frasers Hospitality, Pan Pacific Singapore, The Ascott) and lifestyle brands (Homestolife), to exhibit art in public spaces and make art accessible to all. Through these partnerships, he has also pioneered unique experiences to activate retail and hospitality spaces. Art-themed content, programming and multidisciplinary festivals are used to engage the public, placing the artist’s story and the inspiring messages behind the artworks at the forefront.
Galven is actively involved in ArtForGood initiatives, having led 6 charity projects by Sound of Art to raise >$200,000 for charities various charities, including YMCA, HCA Hospice Care, Hagar International and Singapore Association of the Deaf. Beyond the canvas, Galven is an Associate Director with Bridge Alliance, active in striking regional deals related to the telecoms, gaming and entertainment sectors. He is also a published author with a research specialisation in the history of Christianity in Singapore.
Howie Lau
Managing Partner, Corporate Development and Partnerships, NCS
Howie Lau is Managing Partner of Corporate Development and Partnerships for NCS Group, with oversight of marketing, communications, partnerships, M&A, innovation centres, and sustainability. Prior to this, he was the Assistant Chief Executive of Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) of Singapore, a government agency responsible for the technology, telco and media industries. His responsibilities included the Singapore Media Festival and the Singapore Film Commission. He was previously the Head of Consumer business and Chief Marketing Officer at StarHub, and Chief Marketing Officer for Lenovo Emerging Markets and Asia Pacific/Latin America.
Howie serves on a number of boards and advisory committees and graduated from National University of Singapore. He has been recognised as IT leader of the Year 2020 by Singapore Computer Society, and received the Philip Kotler marketing excellence award 2018 and NUS outstanding alumni award 2009.
Howie is completing a part time postgraduate MA in Asian Art histories with Lasalle College of the Arts and is an art enthusiast and collector of South East Asian modern art. Howie has also participated in the strategic development and industry partnership sub-committee for the University of the Arts Singapore.
Dr Seow Yian San

President, Singapore Council of Women's Organisations (SCWO)
Dr. Seow is currently serving as the President on the board of the Singapore Council of Women’s Organizations (SCWO).
She chairs key committees including the membership and audit committees, as well as the women’s register, demonstrating her commitment to organizational governance and advocacy.
A dedicated leader in gender equality and women's empowerment Dr. Seow served as the President of Association of Women Doctors (Singapore) (AWDS), making history as the first and only dentist elected to this role. Over more than a decade with AWDS, she has been a vocal advocate for women’s rights in health and career advancement within medical practice. Under her leadership, Dr. Seow spearheaded the publication of AWDS’s inaugural book, "All about Eve: Your Women’s Health Questions Answered" featuring a foreword by Singapore's President at that time, Mdm Halimah Yacob, in November 2022.
Dr. Seow represents SCWO in high-level engagements with the various ministries, such as the Ministry of Social and Family Development, member organizations, NGOs, and international women's organizations. Notably, she also represented SCWO at the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) in Geneva, May 2024.
She plays a pivotal role in organizing SCWO’s inaugural Summit for Action in Gender Equality (SAGE) scheduled for September 5, 2024, reflecting her proactive approach to advancing gender equality agendas.
Dr. Seow’s multifaceted leadership and advocacy efforts underscore her profound impact in championing women’s rights and empowerment both locally and internationally.
